Today’s visit to the adolescent treatment center was especially meaningful, because I was able to meet a prospective student. She is schedule to come to The Family Foundation School (a therapeutic boarding school) next week. My visit provided us an opportunity to get to know one another, and help her feel connected to the school. She asked a number of good questions and viewed our yearbook. I am told that when she went back to the unit, she was very excited about coming to FFS Middle School.
This speaks to the success of treatment intervention for this student and the value of being able to meet with a student before enrolling. We can’t always do that, but it is great when we do. A few students will send an introduction and welcome letter to her as well.
Its great to see a troubled teen get exicited about her future!
