I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting a nationally recognized adolescent eating disorder hospital today and meeting with the clinical treatment team there. One of our parents helped set up the visit – encouraging us to promote the success we have with struggling teens with eating disorders. The Family Foundation School, a therapeutic boarding school for struggling teens is a aftercare resource for young people who are discharging from treatment programs but need on-going therapeutic help and support. Our students with eating disorders have found help and healing at the school and it was great to partner with a leading and respected treatment provider. One of our boys who attended this program asked me to deliver a letter to the program – thanking them for the help that was offered and apologizing for his resistance. It was rewarding for the team there to hear of the change in this young man – and to know he was not just managing his disease but overcoming it!
